Yes. Modern ones are just slightly different looking VWs.

A Superb... “sexy sleek”? You didn’t meet one in the flesh, did you?
Cavernous, yes, but not sleek.

I did sir and ordered one too (1st March delivery).
1.4TSi ACT SE L Exec hatchback, black leather interior (originally beige leather but Skoda are having a hard time keeping up with demand and can’t supply the beige leather at this moment) with 18” Pegasus alloy wheels.
Here’s the one I saw in person.
Down the front leading from the headlamp corners towards the rear (concealing the bonnet shut line)
Leading to the corner of the tail light and the Skoda characteristic ‘C’ light cluster.
Aggressive stance belaying the sleek flowing lines around the car.
Interior is indeed still cavernous (and more so).
Powered by a 1.4TSi ACT engine.
The car ordered will be this colour with the same wheels.

If Škoda ever came to the US, then I guarantee you there would be a Superb Estate in my driveway within one week.
Seriously, I wouldn’t hesitate to say a Superb is a better all-around car than a GTI (which I generally consider to be the best all around new car in America).

In March of next year it’ll be exactly three years of ownership of our Mk2 Superb estate. Although she is a base spec she has all the stuff we’ve needed and more and has never let us down at all (other than a blown bulb). She swallows the miles, accelerates very well and handles beautifully.
Old friend’s taxi.
She’s a 1.9TDi with 140,000 miles as a hot seat taxi with many journeys from northern England to southern Spain (1,725mile each way).

Lol. I should of clarified. He was a city taxi driver who also did shuttle runs to Newcastle, Glasgow, Liverpool, etc... He holidays at his friend’s place near Marbella. He did a Gretna to London (325 miles) fair once which came to £230.
